I was driving to work this morning and was completely blown away by Naval's answer to the question "What do you believe that most other people would think is crazy?"

His answer...."I no longer fear death"

Here is a brief transcription of his continued thoughts on this topic.

“A lot of the struggle we have in life comes from a deep deep fear of death…the universe has been around for a long time, the universe is a big place…for all practical purposes we are nothing, we are bacteria. We are basically monkeys on a small rock orbiting a small backwards star in a huge galaxy in a huge universe which is part of a hug multi-verse. This universe has been around for 10 billions years and will be around for 10’s of billions of years. Your existence in insignificant, it’s like a firefly blinking once in the night. We are not really here that long and we really don’t matter that much. Nothing we do lasts…your ideas will fade, your children with fade, this planet will fade, the sun will fade…we are here for an extremely short amount of time. Don’t spend life unhappy…when I think about life like this it is just kind of a game. You have a very short period of time and nothing you do will last in the long run.”

Life is too short for unhappiness, anger, settling, or anything that makes us less of ourselves. We are a blink and nothing we do will last so it is simple be happy and do what you want.
