"You can’t outwit fate by standing on the sidelines placing little sidebets about the outcome of life. Either you wade in and risk everything you have to play the game or you don’t play at all. And if you don’t play you can’t win." - Judith McNaught

"If things seem under control, you are just not going fast enough." - Mario Andretti

Thinking big does not sit well with many people. It makes them shut down your dreams. The thought of doing the "impossible" makes people question your connection with "reality". So many words have quotes around them because what your impossible is and what your reality is most of the time doesn't mean the same thing to people around you.

I belong to a world of comfort and by that I mean that I am surrounded by people who are very comfortable with their lives. I am not. I think big and dream really big. I don't think the people around me know how to approach that. Everyone lives their own lives and has their own things they want to accomplish mine are just very different. I am not meant to live this crazy big life to the people around me. I do not belong to a think big go big consistent environment. But I find the motivation, the advocates and the inspiration in books, podcasts, articles, etc.

We have the Bill Gates and Steve Job's and Mark Zuckerbergs but to most people those are the “them’s”. They can do those things but not everyday people. They are special. Yes they are special they dreamed big and they did things. They didn’t let negative talk invade their space. They continued to work and dream and push when everyone said “you can’t”. They didn't let the people in their lives that didn't support their dreams play a part in their success. Why are they special? Why can’t you be special? Is it because the people around you say so? I know what it is like to be around a group of people that doesn’t believe in thinking big. They make fun of your dreams and tell you it will never happen. And you know what they are right it will never happen for THEM. That way of approaching the world will get you no where.

A man by the name of Gary Dahl became a millionaire selling pet rocks. He had a dream, an idea (albeit a dumb one) and brought it to reality. Your dream may not be to design the next computer that takes the world by storm, it may be to write a book or volunteer in another country and no one but you gets to decide what your success is. To some a million dollars means success (even if they hate what they do) to others enough to get by as long as they are doing something they absolutely love is enough. Think big and dream big.
